Dream Chipper

Runners: Gill, Brian, Mercury , Lilith, Martin, Mr Joshua, Running Wolf , Iceface

The Runners were hired by a Roxanne Wuntner to retrieve some experimental skillchips that had been stolen from Global Technologies. As Roxanne left Joe’s the Runners noticed that she was being followed. They followed along and grabbed the person following her with ease - an unsavoury  type called Ferret,  after some “friendly persuasion” by Mr Joshua they discovered he had had been hired to report on whoever Roxanne contacted. He gave them a telephone number of his contact. Another meeting with Roxanne was arranged  - who introduced them to her boss,  Mr Manes. Before discussion can begin, Junior (the son of the founder of Global)  with a some accomplices tries (and singularly fails) to throw a scare into the party. Roxanne told the runners that the thieves apparently had an inside man – a decked called Tee Hee who’s subsequently disappeared. After hitting the streets Mercury discovered that Tee Hee’s mentor and old professor called Flair may know where he is. They tracked down Flair  and find Tee Hee living there. He eventually told them he was paid by Junior and also a fixer called Cooperman to act as an insider. The runners who took the chips were Cooperman, a Street Sam called Griffon, a street mage called Freya and some rigger he never met. He went on to tell them that Freya was badly injured in the run . He also tells them the chips contain three personality archetypes – Cleopatra, Ghengis Khan and Jack the Ripper, loading the chips gives you not only the experience of being that person but also gives you their skills and abilities .

The team hit the streets looking for clues -  a couple of interesting facts float to the surface -  firstly a series of murders of prostitutes in the Barrens and secondly someone appears to be trying to unite all the street gangs in the Barrens into some kind of horde. They report back to Roxanne, especially concerning Junior. While there Junior and his pet thugs attempted (spectacularly unsuccessfully) to kill them. On Junior’s body they found evidence connecting Junior and the theft to a Booker Pengrave at Hollywood Simsense.

Heading into the Barrens next, while Roxanne tries to arrange for access to Pengrave, the runners begin hunting the “Redmond Ripper” using Lilith as bait. The Ripper takes the bait and after a  brief fight they discover the “Ripper” is Griffon. The retrieve his chip and leave the body for Lone Star.

Roxanne comes through with invitations to a party that Pengrave is hosting, there the meet Pengrave and his new girlfriend, a fascinating, charming and beautiful woman whom he seems absolutely besotted by. After some discreet inquiries they realise she was the decker from Cooperman’s team and suss she’s loaded the Cleopatra chip. Jumping her outside the party, they retrieve the chip and question her as to Cooperman’s whereabouts. She informs them of Coopermans former connection with street gangs in the Barrens.

They head on into the Barrens and Cooperman’s lair, his former gang HQ,  a mass battle ensues with the biker hordes in which

Cooperman is killed and the final chip retrieved.
